Thomas Earl McQuillin, age 83, a Vietnam War veteran and longtime resident of Biloxi, passed away on December 20, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Genevieve McQuillin; his brother, Loren “Mac” McQuillin Jr.; and two sisters, Loretta Rivas and Pamela McQuillin.
Tom is survived by his daughter, Lori Ann (Greg) Cantrell; grandchildren, Damien (Desneiges) Hansen and Tara Hansen; great-grandchildren; brothers, Rick McQuillin, Everett “Michael” McQuillin, and Timothy McQuillin; sisters, Cheryl Howard, Cindy (Lane) Ormerod, and Elicia (Duane) Blackard; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, and his best friend, Debbie Gara.
Born in Kankakee, Illinois, Tom was a graduate of Kankakee High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat.
A lifelong enthusiast of vehicles, Tom enjoyed fixing up and driving cars. He especially cherished spending time with family and friends, often enjoying meals together at their favorite restaurants.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS 39531, followed by a memorial service and military honors at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
