Thomas F. Miller Sr., a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2026, just shy of his 84th birthday. Born on March 22, 1942, he lived a life full of love, dedication, and service.
Thomas proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Navy, exemplifying courage and commitment. Following his military service, he found fulfillment as a bus driver, retiring after many years of safely guiding children to school in both New York and North Carolina. His warm smile and kind nature made him a beloved figure among students and colleagues alike.
A man of simple pleasures, Thomas treasured the time spent with his family and friends. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and boxing, and he found peace in the quiet moments of fishing and the joy of swimming. Thomas also spent time coaching his sons baseball team in the Red Hook little league, where he created a bond and had fond memories with his children and their friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Louis P. Miller; his mother, Anne F. Rooney; and his brother and sister, Cecil and Cathy Moore. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Barton Miller; his loving daughter, Victoria Miller-Bradshaw; and his sons, Thomas F. Miller Jr. and wife Cassandra, and Michael L. Miller.
Above all else, Thomas's heart was held by his grandchildren: James P. Gay, Mackenzie Lynn Miller, Logan Michael Miller, Lance Matthew Miller, Mason Lawrence Miller, and Lillian Marie Collins, as well as his great-grandson, Jackson Gay. They were his greatest joy and the legacy he cherished most deeply.
At this time, no services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Thomas's memory by spending time with your loved ones and enjoying the simple joys of life, just as he did.
He will be remembered for his unwavering love, his gentle spirit, and the indelible mark he left on all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
