Thomas Mimms Obituary

Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Thomas Edwin Mimms, Sr. and Emily Carol Mason Mimms.
Mr. Mimms was a retired Environmental Analyst with the South Carolina Department of Health & Environmental Control for 29 years. He was a former Park Ranger for the State of South Carolina.
Surviving are his wife; a stepson, Tripp Baker (Kelly); a stepdaughter, Brandlyn Kakadelis; five grandchildren, to whom he was affectionately known as "Granddaddy", Knox Baker, River Baker, Olivia Kakadelis, Ryan Kakadelis, and Natalie Kakadelis.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Mimms Barnett.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Sumter First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Greg Pressley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sumter Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Johnson, Benjamin Brown, Gary Davis, Jacob Floyd, Trey Morgan, Justin Hatfield, Robbie Hatfield, and Will Luzzi.
The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. to 12 Noon prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be sent to Sumter First Church of the Nazarene, 3700 Patriot Parkway, Sumter, SC 29154 or to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

I was so sorry to hear of Tim's passing.
Sweet family. Loved his Mother Carol
Who was my Administrator at a nursing facility. Tim came by often and he always asked about my daughters. Went to Thomas Sumter with him. Sending love to all the family.
