Thomas J. "Tink" Miner

North Stonington - Thomas "Tink" J. Miner of North Stonington, passed away Dec. 21, 2025.

Born April 26, 1945, to the late John and Lila (Carpenter) Miner, Tink was a 14th generation founding Miner of Stonington, and lived a fulfilling 80 years of adventure, excitement, unconditional love and support.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Thomas J. Miner Jr. Tink is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Dyer; four grandchildren, Kyle Miner, Madisyn Dyer, Harley Dyer and Aiden Miner; and five great-grandsons, Westyn, Wyatt, Walker, Thomas, and Tanner.

He will be remembered as a devoted and extraordinary father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to anyone he crossed paths with. He never failed to show up for a phone call, a coffee catch-up, or make time for a simple visit.

Tink loved to travel far and near, take the long-scenic route behind the wheel of his car and spread all the stories he could share. This is where he developed the nickname, "Traveling Tink the Tourister".

He is also remembered as a hard-working man who bravely served our country in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. After his honorable discharge, he went on to be a machinist at Davis-Standard in Pawcatuck where he proudly devoted 42 years up until his retirement. He selflessly volunteered at Wequetquock Fire Department for many years. After his retirement, you could easily find Tink getting coffee with his friends, exploring new places, sharing stories among his friends and family, and bragging about his five great-grandsons.

His family will receive relatives and friends from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, at the Mystic Funeral Home located on Route 1 in Mystic. His funeral services and burial will be held privately in the spring of 2026.
