Yesterday

Deepest condolences to Ginger and the entire Mitchell family. FHS lost a great alum in Tom in many ways, but mostly his great sense of humor, wry smile & infectious laugh tempered with mischief & warm heart. Somewhere up there, he´s wearing Ray-Bans & croonin´ his sax to a soulful song to Gabriel...RIP Tom

Yesterday

I was so saddened to hear of Tom's passing. He was a great friend growing up. I'll never forget our conversations walking home from school; WWII historical stuff. One fall day on the way home we passed a tree that had over 100 birds chirping and tweeting away. Tom pulled his biology and algebra books out and clapped them together and it was like a scene from Hitchcock's The Birds! They all took off. I remember that white pickup truck when we were at Firestone. Got some rides home in the bed. One day Tom got distracted and the truck climbed up the curb a little and one of the small trees got in the way and a branch got clipped by the cab window, leaves everywhere. I became the waist gunner on a B-17. Yelled to Tom, "We've been hit!" But mostly it was Tom's sweet, gentle nature that I admired so much. And he and Ginger were the perfect couple. God bless Tom, Ginger and the entire family. Thinking of you. Prayers.

Deepest sympathy for Ginger and the family! We loved being part of his small group and the fellowship and friendship we had. We will never forget the bagpipe ensemble he arranged and played in for one of our get-togethers! We review the video from time to time and are thankful for the friendship, prayer and care we had at Living Hope Church.

I haven´t lived in Findlay for 15 years, and yet it broke my heart to hear of Dr Mitchell´s passing. He was such a kind soul, always so patient and warm. Even when I was in my 20s, and would go back for dental visits, he always greeted me with a "how´s it going kiddo?" And asked me about my life with such genuine care. He was a man who truly lived out his faith and cared for his patients with such extraordinary compassion. Such a kind and gentle soul, his loss will be deeply felt by many.

Deepest condolences to Ginger and the entire Mitchell Family for their loss. Dr. Mitchell was a wonderful person and an awesome dentist! I remember interviewing him to be my dentist upon arrival to USA 26 years ago - I'm so glad he passed the test! Tom was not only our family dentist but also our neighbor. He was one of the 'good guys' with a heart of gold; he was always cheery greeting us with a handshake and a smile. He will be missed.
