Thomas J. Monari

Thomas J. Monari, 78 of Oakdale, South Fayette Township, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, in St. Clair Hospital.
Thomas was born on November 7, 1945, in Somerville, New Jersey, a son of the late Edward and Rose Krazalkovich Monari. Thomas was raised by his uncle and aunt, John and Mary Mataba.
Mr. Monari was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran. Thomas served in the Vietnam War as a 3rd class Petty Officer and Boasmen Mate. After his time in the service Thomas came back home to Oakdale. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church in Noblestown. He served as a Eucharistic minister and also a member of the Holy Name Society. Thomas belonged to many organizations within his community to name a few the McDonald Rodney and Gun Club and the James F. McCluskey Post #586 in Cuddy. Thomas was also the past District Commander for two years of American Legion Post #1171 and a member of the Richard Vaux Lodge F&AM Lodge #454. Later in life, Thomas retired as a heavy truck mechanic for the Local Union 249.
Surviving is his son, Michael (Carol) Monari.
Along with his parents, Thomas is preceded in death by his loving wife, Beverly Ann Platko Monari, whom he married September 16, 1967, and his sisters, Theresa Monari, Eleanor Moyer and Catherine Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at 10 am at St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, St. Patrick's Church. Inurnment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc. and Crematory, 5000 Noblestown Rd., Oakdale (724-693-2800).
