“Loving Husband, Dad & Grandad”
Gene Moody, 97, of Waynesville went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, November 25, 2023, at his home. He was the son of the late Thomas and Mae Moody. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
He served in the US NAVY and the US ARMY. He was a lifelong resident of Haywood County. A devoted church member at Allens Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed taking his daily walks and taking car rides.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Moody; a son, William “Joey” Moody (Tammy); one grandson, Luke Moody; a brother Jackie Moody and his son, Daryl Moody (Colette) and two daughters, along with many dear nephews & nieces. And dear brothers & sisters-in-laws.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Cemetery.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
