Obituary of Thomas S. Mumma

Thomas S. Mumma, 94, of Elizabethtown, PA, left his earthly home for an eternal home with Jesus Christ on Monday afternoon, September 15, 2025 at Masonic Village Health Care Center. Born in Mount Joy Twp., Lancaster County, he was the son of the late Clay B. and Lizzie J. Stern Mumma. He was the husband of Doris Sweigart Mumma for 68 years before her passing in 2020.

Tom was an active member of the former Elizabethtown United Zion Church. He loved the Lord and freely shared his faith with others. He was employed selling chicken feed for Wenger Feeds for many years prior to his retirement. After he retired, he enjoyed providing transportation to the Amish community which resulted in many lasting friendships. Tom was a daily patron of Mount Joy Diner. He enjoyed spending time with his family, including each of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by four children, Thomas L., husband of Suzanne Eppley Mumma, of Elizabethtown, Sally J., wife of Lamar Moyer, of Marietta, Brenda J., wife of Eric Copenhaver, of New Holland, and Susan J. Mumma of Elizabethtown; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two siblings, Clay, husband of Hilma Mumma, of Lancaster and Pauline, wife of Vernice Begley, of Illinois. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, John Mumma, Jean Hostetter, and Anne Lantz.

Tom's family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Masonic Village's Evergreen Neighborhood for their excellent care during his time there.

Services are private. Interment will be in Roherstown Mennonite Cemetery. Please omit flowers. If desired, contributions may be made in his memory to the Evergreen Neighborhood Fund, One Masonic Drive, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.
