Sheryl was born November 4, 1952, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Ruth Shatuck Hill.
Sheryl worked as a care partner with Columbus Regional Hospital for 30 years before retiring. She liked to watch TV and collect stuffed animals. Spending time with her cats and caring for them was one of her favorite pastimes.
Survivors include her children, Mike Mumma, Stephanie (Ian) Phares, Randy (Kimberly) Hill; grandchildren, Kendrah Phares, Kaylah Phares; sisters, Janice Edwards of Butler, Deborah Bissel of Goshen; brother, Steve Hill; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Randy Hill.
In keeping with the family's request, cremation will take place and no other services are planned at this time.

I worked alongside Sheryl in the ICU for several years while in the float pool at CRH. Sheryl always worked harder than just about anyone and never complained. She was funny and a joy to be paired with. I always enjoyed working with her, and she took good care of her patients. One time she said she needed a man- 6'4", broad shoulders, tight tushie! I laughed and said, "Sheryl, you just described my husband." I still quote that line to him sometimes and laugh, and I remember Sheryl when I do! What a wonderful person!
