Thomas Prosper Murray Jr, 67, of Bloomington, IL, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, due to natural causes.

Thomas 'Tom' was born on March 27, 1958, to Christine Ann Hangen and Thomas Prosper Murray, Sr. in Peoria, IL. Tom graduated from Peoria High School in 1976.

In 1994 he met Debbie Miller, and they wed in 2000, going on to have one child, Kylee Jordin.

Originally, he was a manager for Concord Custom Cleaners from 1984 to 1999 in Normal. He later worked as a machinist for Toyo USA Manufacturing, retiring in 2024. He spent his time watching and analyzing statistics from his favorite Chicago sports teams; the White Sox, the Bulls, the Blackhawks, the Bears, but not the Cubs, the team which his daughter liked. This led to many spirited conversations, that ended with Kylee always being right. He was also an avid March Madness fanatic and loved watching golf, especially The Masters.

A few words in memoriam from Tom's daughter, "I've been asked to summarize my Dad. Quiet, everyone knows that. Selfless, depending on the circumstances and the person. I think the best way is to say he was the best father on the planet. No matter who or what, he was talking about how proud he was of me. I know he'll probably be upset about making this all about him and he always hated talking about himself. But I love my Dad and I always will. I know that no matter what I do or did, you were always by my side. I know I could always rely on you for "mostly" level-headed advice. You always made sure that I felt that I was loved and appreciated. We had our little fights over the years, but I know you would do everything in your power to make sure that I was safe and sound. I still don't know how or understand how I will go through life without you. You were truly one of my best friends. All I know now is that you are no longer in pain and that's all that matters to me. You may not have been very vocal about your illnesses to anyone, and that's perfectly fine, but I think we're all glad that you are no longer suffering. I will forever and always be your little girl that everyone thinks is your granddaughter. And I will wear that badge with the most honor I can."

Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Kylee J. Murray of Franklin, IL, and his brothers, Peter W. Murray of Morton, IL, Martin F. Murray of Peoria, IL, and Nicholas P. Murray of Phoenix, AZ.

Cremation Rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Wright & Salmon Mortuary.
