Thomas Muszynski Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Steuerle Chapel - Villa Park on Jan. 12, 2026.
Thomas Joseph Muszynski Sr. of Villa Park, Illinois, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother and brother-in-law, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026 at the age of 78.
Born on December 22, 1947 in Oak Park, Illinois, Tom lived a life defined by love and service to his family, friends and country. He loved to understand the intricacies of how things worked and then spent countless hours sharing that knowledge in helping friends and family with endless projects. As a loving husband, he was a dedicated and loyal partner and friend. As a proud father, he consistently prioritized the well-being and future of his children over his own. As a grandfather, he brought joy, laughter, and treasured memories. As a brother and son, he was loyal, reliable, and deeply loved.
Tom was known for his strong work ethic and passion for the things he loved. He found great joy in dining out with his wife and friends, woodworking, home improvement, golfing and watching the Bears and Cubs. Nothing brought him more joy than enjoying these passions with his family, friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jayne Muszynski (Castady); his 5 children, Jill (Bob) Morris, Thomas (Kirsten) Muszynski Jr., Nancy (Justin) Stringer, Carolyn (Chris) Yeazel and Shelley (Yousuf) Haq; his 16 grandchildren, Molly Morris, Zach Morris, Macy Morris, Henry Muszynski, JT Stringer, Jayne Stringer, Stella Stringer, Caleigh Yeazel, Mallory Yeazel, Bethany Yeazel, Joshua Yeazel, Jordan Yeazel, Elijah Haq, Caleb Haq, Nathan Haq and Micah Haq; his sister Nancy (John) Burns; many dear sister and brothers-in-law and much loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Nancy Muszynski, and his brothers Jack (Nebbie) Muszynski and Jim (Cathy) Muszynski.
Though our hearts are heavy, we are grateful for the life he lived and the time we had to share with him. His legacy will continue through the family he cherished and the lives he touched.
Visitation Friday, January 16, 2026, from 4:00PM - 8:00PM at Steuerle, 15 W Park Blvd, Villa Park, IL 60181. Funeral Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Interment Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Homes for Our Troops www.hfotusa.com if so inclined. Funeral info: steuerlefh.com or (630) 832-4161.

T o Jayne and family and my cousin Sissy
I was shocked tp hear this news as I had no idea of Tom's past medical history. I only saw him as a sweet caring man. We shared golf stories and old family stories at the annual Cousins luncheons. You will always be loved and genuinely missed. RIP my friend.
With love, your cousin Gini Prindle.
