Thomas Newman

 

Thomas J. Newman, 26, of Andover, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 25th, at the Augustana Lutheran Church, Andover. Rev. Randall Swanson will officiate.  Burial will be in the Andover Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church.  Memorials may be made to the Thomas Newman Family for his children or the Augustana Lutheran Church.  Stackhouse-Moore Funeral & Cremation Services, Cambridge, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

 

Thomas Jacob Newman was born March 11, 1997 in Rock Island, the son of Larry and Jina (Mitton) Newman.  He was educated in Orion schools and graduated from Orion High School in 2016.  He worked as a landscaper.  Thomas loved hunting and being on the farm.  He also enjoyed mudding with the boys in his truck, playing cards, fishing, cooking, and spending time with his children, family, and friends.  He was a member of the Augustana Lutheran Church.

 

Those surviving are his two children, Chloe and Ryder Newman, Cambridge, his parents, Larry & Jina Newman, Andover, two sisters, Lara (Nate) Henry, Charlotte, NC, Jessica (Kyle) Salisbury, Rock Island, a brother, Luke Newman, Davenport, his grandfather, Dwayne Newman, Orion, and a nieces, Sophia and Lakelyn.  Other survivors include an uncle, Randal Newman, and aunts, Corrie Newman, Jill (Walt) Coussens, Janna (Charlie) Cox, Jo Etta Catterton, and "like a mother", Jody Nimrick.   His grandmother, Barbara Newman, his grandfather, Richard Mitton, his grandmother, Marlene Lindel, and his uncle, Tom Newman, preceded him in death.
