Ellen Carol Newman

Ellen Carol Newman, 88, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, in Naples, Florida.

Born on July 5, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, Ellen was the daughter of Norm and Caroline Clark. She grew up in Ohio alongside her brother, Norm Clark, and sister, Janet Brostedt. From an early age, Ellen's life was marked by deep connections and enduring love-most notably with her husband Joel Newman. Their remarkable journey began in the 7th grade and blossomed into a marriage that spanned seven decades. On October 18, 2025, they joyfully celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

Ellen and Joel built a life rooted in partnership and shared purpose. Together, they founded a company in Ohio where Ellen played a pivotal role in its success. In 1986, they relocated to Naples, Florida, continuing their business endeavors while embracing the warmth of their new community.

Family was at the heart of everything Ellen did. She was a devoted wife to Joel Newman; a loving mother to her daughters Susan Loewel (Jack, deceased) and Christine Caropresi (James); a proud grandmother to Ryan Ulrich (Maggie), Emily Llera (Tony), Sara Ulrich, David Caropresi and Daniel Caropresi; and a cherished great-grandmother to Ariana and Adrian Rouse, Hannah and Adam Ulrich, and Addison and Antonio Llera and her sister, Janet Brostedt.

Ellen had an abiding passion for cooking-a gift she shared generously with those around her. Her kitchen was often the center of family gatherings where memories were made over lovingly prepared meals. Her warmth extended beyond her culinary talents; she was known as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose presence brought comfort and joy.

Though she is preceded in death by her parents, Norm and Caroline Clark; her brother Norm Clark; and son-in-law Jack Loewel, her legacy lives on through the generations of family who carry forward her love and strength.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Palm Royale Funeral Home & Cemetery 6790 Vanderbilt Beach Rd., with a brief service and burial to follow at 11:30 AM.

Memorial contributions in Ellen's memory may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital.
