Thomas J. Perkins

Thomas Joseph Perkins, 86, died on November 7, 2025 at Crouse Hospital. He was born on August 14, 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Syracuse. He graduated high school from Christian Brothers Academy in 1957 and served in the Army National Guard for 8 years, achieving the rank of Sergeant (E5). Thomas was a Mason and a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local #2. He worked on many prominent construction projects in Central New York and received an award for outstanding craftsmanship for work on Holy Trinity Church in 1999. He retired as a Mason Foreman after 56 years with Schneid Construction Company. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandpa and uncle who enjoyed ice fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with his family. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
He is pre-deceased by his parents: Walter and Marie Dantonello Perkins; wife Carolyn (nee Sabis), sister Dorothy Coombs, and brother Robert.
His family includes his children: MaryGail Perkins (Maria Brown), Mark Perkins (Dee), Timothy Perkins (Lisa Turner), BethAnn Smith (Aaron); sister Barbara Krebs (Michael); loving companion Joan Vossler; grandchildren Taylor, Evan, Charlie, Jack, Henry, Annabelle, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 2-4pm with a service at the conclusion at the Goddard-Crandall-Shepardson Funeral Home.
