Thomas Peter Popp, age 56, of Beechview, lovingly known as "Tommy," passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, talent, and cherished memories. Born on March 21, 1968, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Tommy was the beloved son of Marie Celine Grodes (Charles Grodes) and the late Patrick Paul Popp.
Tommy was a devoted husband to his late wife, Margaret M. Popp "Margie", and a loving father to Sean Popp, Shane Popp, Joscelyn Potechko (Lacy and Preston), Robbie Burgoyne, and the late Ashley M. Tomko. He was also a dear brother to Jacqueline Popp Brandner, Alicia Popp Voskamp, and Paul T. Popp. Preceding him in death were his brothers Richard J. Popp "Ricky" and Charles G. Grodes "Chuckie". Tommy's warmth extended to his role as an uncle and great-uncle to numerous nieces and nephews who adored him.
A proud member of Laborers Union Local 373, Tommy was a skilled craftsman with remarkable talents in carpentry, electrical work, and painting. His creativity shone through in every project he undertook. Beyond his professional skills, Tommy had a deep passion for music; he loved singing and playing the guitar. In his younger years, he delighted those around him with his exceptional breakdancing abilities.
Tommy's life was marked by his vibrant spirit and the joy he brought to those who knew him. His memory will forever be treasured by his family and friends.
May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
