Thomas Carl Priester

In loving memory of Thomas Carl Priester, September 22, 1935 - January 5, 2026

Thomas Carl Priester, age 90, of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026.

Tom was born in Wisconsin Dells, WI to Arnol and Crystal (Lee) Priester. He grew up in Wisconsin Dells, WI and graduated from Wisconsin Dells High School where he was a member of a champion football team.

He got his undergraduate degree in education at the University of Wisconsin Platteville, and a masters degree from West Virginia University. Tom was a boat captain on the river in Wisconsin Dells in the summer during his college years. He continued his love of boating by taking at least 65 ocean cruises with his wife and other family members over the years.

Tom proudly served in the United States Army under the GI bill for 2 years, during which time he met the love of his life, Catherine Gregory. He had a long career as a math educator in Annapolis, MD until his retirement. He and his wife of more than 63 years moved from Annapolis to Aurora in 2018.

Tom was a Nobel member of the both 100 Club of the Boumi Shriners and of the Masonic Blue Lodge. He enjoyed watching many sports including University of Wisconsin and West Virginia University football.

He is survived by sister Peggy (Bob Danner), brother Robert (Mirella), sister-in-law Judy Priester, Cousin Janet (George) Walsh of Dublin Ireland and more than three dozen nieces and nephews, all of whom adored him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Catherine (Gregory), brothers Harry, Adolph, Bill, and Jerry, sister Crystal Vivian, nieces Crystal Moldenhauer and Barbara Moldenhauer, nephew Donny Moldenhauer, and cousin Lee Warden.

Private family services are to be held.
