It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas N. Prymak, 76, of Prosper, Texas on March 23, 2025.
Thomas was born on August 12, 1948 in Indiana, Pennsylvania to Kathryn L. Prymak (néeMaloney) and Nicholas T. Prymak, and was preceded in death by both parents.
In 1970, Thomas earned a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University. On August 22nd of that same year, he married Sally J. Roy at St. Matthew Cathedral in South Bend, Indiana.
Thomas dedicated his professional life to fire safety, traveling the world to work with a variety of clients, including global corporations, the U.S. military, and NASA. Despite relocating with his family several times across the United States over the years, certain hobbies remained
constant. In his personal time he was an enthusiastic golfer who played courses all over the country; an avid reader who finished at least a book a week, frequently detective novels; a consummate foodie who could name the three best restaurants in any given city; and a
dedicated audiophile with a particular love for his vinyl collection of 60s and 70s Soul and Jazz.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Prymak of Prosper, Texas; daughter Melissa (Anthony) Akin of Celina, Texas; and sister Kathy (James) Barnes of Peoria, Arizona.
A private memorial service will be held on April 11, 2025 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Indiana, led by Reverend William Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Texas Food Bank or your charity of choice.

For many years Tom was my workout buddy. We had much in common with our lives, from getting married within a week of one another, taste in food, hobbies, etc. It was a day with mixed emotions when we learned that Tom and Sally were moving from Arlington Heights, Illinois where we both recently moved to apartments about 1 mile apart. Shortly after their move, we started corresponding via US mail. It was always a joy to receive letters from Tom as he was such great writer and storyteller. His humorous way of sharing his stories made you feel as though you were living the journey with he and Sally. While life got in the way sometimes, we always felt an instant bond when we were able to catch up. Tom was a very generous person and when a work related trip found him able to stay at our home on occasion, he´d always want to treat us to dinner or give us a gift. Totally unnecessary given the fact that we both thoroughly enjoyed his company. Luckily one of the gifts given was a Scissors and letter opener in a leather case with Grinnell stamped on it. Tom worked for them for quite a while and whenever we open our desk drawer, we see this case and are reminded of our good friend. To our delight, work found a way to bring Tom and Sally back Arlington Heights and with a very special family addition. Of course we are talking about Melissa, who rightfully became the apple of his eye. So lucky were we to witness the early formative years of her maturity. It was never a surprise to hear that she did so well in school and ultimately in life. Tom had every right to feel so proud of the family he and Sally brought into this world. We will so miss this wonderful man who will always have a special place in our hearts.
