Francis L. "Frank" Prymak, 83, of Shenandoah, passed away peacefully Monday evening, Feb. 7, 2022, at his residence with devoted family by his side.
Born Sept. 26, 1938, in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late Frank and Blanche (Gilewicz) Prymak.
He was a 1956 graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah.
Mr. Prymak was a decorated Army veteran, having received the Good Conduct Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed for over 20 years at Ateeco Inc., Mrs. T's Pierogies, Shenandoah, as a line operator.
Frank was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, St. Casimir's Church.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially gardening. He liked fixing things around the house or anything in need of repair; he always made good use of his carpentry tools. He was a great fan of the polkas; Frank watched them on WVIA on Saturday nights and made his radio requests on a Sunday with Polka Joe for "Pop Prymak of Shenandoah." Above all, he cherished the time spent together with his family.
Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his wife, Linda M. (Mahmod) Prymak, on Jan. 22, 2022; his daughter, Cecelia A. "Celie" Jevelle, on March 8, 2010; his son, Francis M. "Harr" Prymak, on April 8, 2012; two brothers, Daniel and Leonard Prymak; one sister, Dorothy Colby.
Surviving are two grandsons, Adam Jevelle, of Shenandoah, and Michael Jevelle, of Brandonville; four great-grandchildren, Julia Rose, Keara, Shelby and Mikey; his son-in-law, Michael Jevelle, of Brandonville; two sisters, Sister LeRoy, OSF of the Bernardine Franciscan Sisters in Reading, and Esther O'Boyle, New Jersey; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews cousins and their families and many friends.
A viewing will be held from 8:30 until 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, at Walukiewicz-Oravitz Fell Funeral Home, 132 S. Jardin St., Shenandoah. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Saint Casimir's Church, 229 N. Jardin St., Shenandoah, the sacred worship site of Divine Mercy Parish, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights.
