Thomas G. Puorro

Thomas G. Puorro (Tom), who was born on September 29, 1929, arrived in heaven on Friday night, February 6, 2026, dying peacefully at his home. He was 96 years old.

Tom led a remarkable life defined by dedication, service, and adventure. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, deployed aboard the USS Radford. In his professional life, he worked for Sears for 10 years and retired after a distinguished 25-year tenure with Procter & Gamble.

Tom was a devoted family man. He shared 62 wonderful years of marriage with his first wife and the mother of his children, Betty, supporting each other "through thick and thin." He is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor Celeste-Puorro, with whom he shared a love he often said was "one heart and one soul between them." He was the loving father of Karen, Thomas, Lance, and Dana, as well as John & Kimberly. He was the proud grandfather to Jennifer, Erica, Thomas, Joanna, Gina, Angela, Nicholas, Matthew, and Wesley, and had nine great-grandchildren.

Tom was a man of many passions and interests. He enjoyed gardening, boxing, and tennis, and even bred German shepherds, some of which he donated to the Air Force. His adventurous spirit was lifelong; for example, feeling bored at age 70, he took up skydiving.

A viewing will be held at Baldwin Brothers Funeral & Cremation Society, 620 Dunlawton Avenue, Port Orange, FL 32127, on Thursday, February 12th, from 2:30 pm to 4:00 pm. All are welcome to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests something that can be planted in their garden in Tom's memory.
