Jeffrey H. Tichenor, age 85, of Port Orange, Florida, passed away on January 30, 2026.
Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, Jeffrey lived a life defined by service and dedication.
He graduated from Manasquan High School in 1958. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962. He was a volunteer and lifetime member with the South Wall Fire Rescue, serving as Fire Chief for three consecutive years from 1970-1972. His years of service left a lasting mark on the department he cared about so deeply.
Jeffrey is survived by his beloved wife, Andrea; his daughter Jacqueline and her husband Charles Jones; his daughter Jennifer and her husband Rick Connerly; and his grandchildren, Logan and his wife Chelsea, and Sydney and her husband Austin. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Matthews, Sara Larrison and her husband Donny, sister-in-law Joan Bogan and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Richard Howard and Adelaide Pauline, his Sister Jennifer Rosenfeld and her husband Jack, his brother-in-law Al Matthews.
He worked in the car Industry for many years before relocating to Port Orange, Florida in 1979. He was a police dispatcher for multiple departments in Volusia County.
He loved his family above all else and treasured time spent together. Christmas was his favorite time of year. He loved decorating his home, the traditions and the chance to have everyone close. He enjoyed boating and fishing. His favorite vacation spot was Sanibel Island, where he made many happy memories.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his loyalty, his commitment to service, and most of all, the deep and constant love he showed his family.
A private service was held with family to honor and celebrate his life.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
