Thomas Rhoades Obituary

Thomas D. "Tom" Rhoades, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born February 11, 1951, in Shelbyville, the son of Kenneth E. and Emily (Malcom) Rhoades.

Tom is survived by his brothers, Kenneth "Bill" Rhoades of Whiteland, and Ronald Rhoades and wife, Joyse of Waldron; nieces, Rebecca Rhoades and Sandra Hampton; and great-nephew, Chad Hampton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his beloved pet, Missy.

In 1971, Tom graduated from Waldron High School.

He had formerly worked at Cash Drawer for 30 years, and later retired from Custom Coating with 10 years of service.

Tom enjoyed collecting Lionel trains.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am to 11 am on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral service will follow, with Pastor James Thurman officiating.

Interment will be at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shelbyville-Shelby County Animal Shelter, 705 Hale Road, Shelbyville.
