Thomas A. "Tony" Rhodes, 96, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Carmel Home. He was born in Daviess Co., KY to the late Edwin Joseph and Alma Aull Rhodes. Tony had attended Murray State and was retired as an office manager and a funeral director. He was a charter member of Immaculate Catholic Church and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Reverend Joseph Rhodes in 2010, and two sisters, Dorothy Capelle in 2005 and Angela Kerrick in 2007.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Martha Kay Mills Rhodes, his daughter, Anne R. Miller and husband Donald of Arnold, MD, two grandchildren, Matthew R. Miller and wife Carson and Jacob Lee Miller, and nieces and nephews, Dudley Capelle, Jr., Ann Simon, Barbara Horn, Bettye Rouse, Dottie Brian, and Paula Fisher.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 27, at Immaculate Catholic Church with Father Joe Mills and Father Tony Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 8:30-9:30 A.M. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Tony was a very kind and gentle man who was devoted to his faith and to his family. The family extends their appreciation to the staff of the Carmel Home for the great care and support given to him during his stay there.
