Thomas "Tom" Jesse Riley

Thomas "Tom" Jesse Riley, age 71, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, December 19, 2025, at his home. He was born May 20, 1954, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Richard James and Ada Mae Teets Riley. On May 10, 1975, he married Mary Ann Heatherly who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Riley and companion Tasha Williams and David Riley and wife Hannah all of Buckhannon; two daughters, Amy Riley and companion Reno Tyson of Buckhannon and Jessica Vaughn and husband Wayco of French Creek, WV; four granddaughters, Brittany Lane and husband Garrett, Tanisha Reed and husband Austin and Delilah Riley all of Buckhannon and Destiny Cobb and husband Dereck of French Creek; five great granddaughters, Hailey and Adalynn Confere both of Buckhannon, Naomi Cutlip of French Creek and Aubrey and Paisley Reed both of Buckhannon; one great grandson, Sawyer Lane of Buckhannon; two sisters, Janet Kay Smith and husband Burl of Buckhannon and Regina Bertsch and husband Kerry of Livingston, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Christina L. Kaull and three brothers, Richard J. Riley, II, Rodney Allen Riley and Terry Riley. Tom loved and supported his family and was always willing to lend a helping hand. "He was one of the strongest and hardest working men we knew." Tom drove truck and owned and operated Riley Trucking and Repair for many years. He loved to build and repair trucks and was always looking for the next good deal or trade. The family would like to extend special thanks to WVU Hospice nurses, Beth, Chastity and Adam for helping stay comfortable and Steve Riffle for helping with nighttime care. Friends will be received Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 4 to 8 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Bailey Cemetery in Buckhannon. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.polingstclair.com. Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
