A celebration of life for Thomas Windell Riner, 87, will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2201 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Thomas will be laid to rest at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana, at a later date. Officiating the service will be Pastor Mike Palmer.

Thomas was born on March 6, 1938, to Edward and Bernice Riner in Wrightsville, Georgia, and passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Thomas lived a life marked by quiet strength, steady devotion, and a love that didn’t need grand gestures to be felt. With a master’s degree in business and a deep sense of duty, he served 20 honorable years in the United States Air Force. After his military career, Thomas continued to care for others as a medical equipment service technician, bringing precision and compassion to every task.

On June 21, 1958, he married the love of his life, Betty Lou Swann. Together, they built a life filled with loyalty, laughter, and lasting love. They raised a son and a daughter who continue to reflect the values he lived by: honesty, dedication, and the kind of steady care that never needed to be spoken to be understood.

Thomas loved his family deeply. He may not have been one for fuss or fanfare, but his care was constant, woven into everyday moments, steady as a heartbeat. His presence was a comfort, and his devotion unmistakable. He will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Thomas has joined his wife, Betty Lou Riner, and his son, Thomas Windell Riner, Jr., in Heaven. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Sheila Luna, and husband, Gilbert; grandson-in-law, Donald Fletcher; grandsons, Tyler J. Riner and William A. Luna; granddaughter, Jessie S. Luna; six great-grandchildren; brother, Stan Riner, and wife, Louise; and sister, Jean Misitano.

The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org), the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org), or the Parkinson's Foundation (www.parkinson.org).
