A funeral service for Connie Hauk Wilson, 92, will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Airline Baptist Church, 4007 Airline Dr., Bossier City, Louisiana. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Park Cemetery in Haughton, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor Harrell Shelton.
Connie was born on February 5, 1933, to Clarence Ralph Hauk and Dora Isabelle Hauk in Atchison, Kansas, and passed away on Friday, September 26, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Connie devoted her life to faith, family, and music. Born with a heart for service and a mind for learning, she earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, in 1953. Her calling led her to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, where she received her Master of Religious Education in 1958 and a Master of Church Music in 1960.
She served as Minister of Music at First Baptist Church in Bossier City, Louisiana, from 1960 to 1968, guiding worship with grace and conviction. Her love for music extended beyond the church walls; she taught piano and voice lessons from her home, nurturing talent and confidence in countless students over the years.
On September 8, 1967, Connie married Malcolm Dennis Wilson, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose quiet strength and gentle spirit touched everyone around her.
Connie’s passion for education and ministry continued throughout her life. She served in numerous conferences for children’s education with the Louisiana Baptist Convention, always advocating for meaningful, faith-based learning. In 1985, she voluntarily served in helping organize the Sunday School department at Airline Baptist Church, continuing her legacy of leadership and care.
Her life was a testament to dedication, whether in the classroom, the sanctuary, or the living room piano bench. She gave generously of her time, her wisdom, and her heart. Connie will be remembered not only for her accomplishments but for the way she made others feel seen, heard, and loved.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Ralph Hauk and Dora Isabelle Hauk; brother, Benjamin Ralph Hauk and wife, Kay Hauk; sister, Dorcus Hauk Fowler, and husband, Franklin Fowler; and son-in-law, Lawrence D. Garza. She is survived by her loving husband, Malcolm Dennis Wilson; daughter, Denise Wilson Draper; granddaughter, Sophia de la Garza, and grandson, Jaxon Draper.
Honoring Connie as pallbearers will be Jeff Free, Jeff Lowe, Larry Harrell, Pat McConathy, Joe Windham, and Greg Skyrme. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mike Skyrme, Will Hubbard, David Harrell, and Bill Bailey.
