Thomas J. Scheg, 78, passed away on February 20th, 2026 at Westminster Suncoast Nursing Home in St. Petersburg, Florida. Thomas was born on June 2nd, 1947 to Jerome P. Scheg and Margaret Cloonan in Rochester, New York. The couple had seven children to include five boys and two girls. Thomas was the 4th child with six living siblings. Of these siblings are two sisters, Kathleen and Mary Clare; four brothers to include Joseph, Leo, Jerry, and Donald.

Thomas moved to St. Petersburg, Florida on April 15th, 1985. He worked various maintenance roles with different companies and he loved listening to all kinds of music, biking ,and walking along Coffee Pot Bay.

He attended the Holy Ghost Catholic Church and School in Gates Chili, New York.

He is survived by two nieces Lori Kohr and Katie Manning; and two nephews Ryan Scheg and Matthew Scheg along with several extended family members and friends with whom he loved. He will be deeply missed by many and his memory will be forever cherished.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul's Catholic Church on Wednesday, 25th February at 10:00am located at 1800 12th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33704 followed by a graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery located at 5233 118th Ave N, Clearwater, FL 33760.
