Thomas Everett Senter, Jr. (affectionately known as Shorty) entered into rest on August 18, 2025. He was born to the late Thomas E. Senter, Sr. and Elsie (Grizzard) Senter on October 10, 1952. In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his siblings Marion Walton, Gilbert Senter, and Michael Senter.
Thomas was baptized at First Baptist Church Rock City Church, now known as First Baptist South Inglewood, early in life. He attended Davidson County Schools and graduated from Stratford High School.
A man of few words but full of quiet strength, Thomas was known for his hardworking spirit, bright smile, and a laugh that could light up any room. He was employed for many years as a delivery driver at Johnson's Furniture and later at Emma's Florist. His kind personality and calm demeanor made him a favorite among his coworkers and customers alike. He took pride in his work and built lasting friendships through his dedication and dependability. Though simple in his ways, Thomas left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He loved his family deeply, and his love was shown not through many words, but through steady presence, thoughtful actions, and laughter shared in life's small moments.
He will be sadly missed by his sons Thomas E. Woodard and Corey L. Woodard, and stepdaughter Marcia Woodard (Matthew) Smith; brother Dennis Jason Senter; grandchildren Kiaira Woodard, Kaliyah Woodard, Alana Harris, Thomas Woodard Jr., Tayla Woodard, Torian Woodard, Jayoni Harding, Keyonte Calloway, Ci"Miyah Calloway, Aaliyah Woodard, Aniyah Woodard, DeMarcus Woodard, and LeDarius Gee; four great-grandsons Josiah and Jedidiah Scales, Kyrie Webb, and Kruze Brown; God-family Richard, Pauline, and Keith Holland; along with a host of cousins and friends.
Thomas's life was a testament to humility, hard work, and the power of a smile. Though he walked softly through this world, his presence was unforgettable, and his laughter and love will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
