I first met Mark, Jr (little Mark to me) when I started working with his father in the early-mid 1980's. Mark, Jr was a great kid, always polite and respectful and as an added bonus he shared a birthday with my oldest daughter. I have fond memories of Mark, Jr interacting with my girls when Mark and Vicki watched them. Over time, I lost touch with Mark, Jr as he grew up and moved on with his life. Fast forward about 35 years and my wife and I were pulling our boat home. The entire trailer hitch assembly broke completely off from underneath my truck (it was badly rusted). Myself and another gentleman, who had run over from his house to help, tried to pull the boat and trailer out of the road as 8-10 cars drove by honking, waving and yelling at us to get out of the road. Finally a truck with a young man and lady stopped and asked if they could help. The young man and I were able to hitch the boat onto his trailer hitch and he followed me home. Once we arrived at my house, he asked me if I had worked with his dad, Mark Sharp, Sr. to which I replied that I had. He proceeded to tell me that he was Mark, Jr and told me he remembered me. I was blown away. I guess I say all of that to say that my earliest memories of Mark, Jr were that of an outstanding young man and my last memory of Mark, Jr is that of the outstanding adult he became. Rest in peace little Mark, Jim Shanks
