Thomas Andrew Shay

Died on July 28, 2025 at the age of 91.

Mr. Shay was raised and educated in Philadelphia and graduated with a degree in Advertising Art from the Philadelphia College of Art.

He started his career in advertising upon graduation and spent his entire working life as a free-lance designer and sole proprietor.

His client list covered a wide range of companies such as N.W. Ayer Advertising, The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Spectrum, The Philadelphia Flyer, Jerrold Electronics, J.B. Lippincott, F.A. Davis Publishers and IMS International.

He was a resident of Haddonfield, NJ for 55 years and a member of the Wedgewood Swim Club and the Haddon Field (Tennis) Club. He was also a member of the Philadelphia Art Alliance and the Philadelphia Plays and Players. Mr. Shay was the senior class president at Bartram High School and he enjoyed playing tennis and traveling, visiting over 50 countries.

Mr. Shay is survived by his wife Ann, Son Mark (Sherry), daughter Elizabeth Ann, 3 grandchildren Samantha, Scott and Kerry, 1 great grandson Frankie and his sister Patricia Watkins.

Burial will be private at West Laurel Hill Cemetery, Bala-Cynwyd, PA in the Shay family plot.

Memorial donations may be made to the Haddonfield Public Library, 60 N. Haddon Ave., Haddonfield, NJ 08033 (www.hadonfieldlibrary.org)
