Thomas R. Sies, affectionately known as Tom, was born on November 8, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He passed away peacefully on June 13, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and cherished memories. Tom’s life was marked by a strong sense of community, warmth, and a humorous perspective that left an imprint on all who knew him. He is now reunited with his beloved wife, Mary, who predeceased him, and together they shared a bond of love that continues to inspire their family. Together, Mary and Tom had a relationship with the Lord and it is through that relationship we are now assured they will live out eternity together in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Tom was a devoted family man, deeply loved by his children: Mary (Brian) Bailey, William Sies, Barbara Sizemore, Christina (Brian) Morris, and Sueann (Brian) Gerhardstein; grandchildren: Andrew (Danielle), Matthew, Jennifer, Jillian (Trevor), Jacob (Sequoia), Benjamin (Tiffany), Caleb (Erin), Brittany, Brianna, Jessica, Ronald, and Dominic; and numerous great-grandchildren. Tom is preceded in death by his siblings Jack (Nancy), William, Sandra, and Mary Ellen (Chester). Surviving siblings are Kathleen and Dennis (Mary Sue). Tom also held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he fought valiantly to ensure they always felt loved and cherished. Tom's spirit and nurturing nature made him not just a father, but a guiding light in their lives.
A dedicated fan of the Cincinnati Bengals, Tom enjoyed nothing more than cheering his team on during football season. He also had a passion for old westerns, no matter how many times he had already seen 'em. Additionally, he found joy in watching "The Price is Right," where the thrill of the game captured his interest and brought laughter to many moments spent with family and friends. In his younger days, Tom was an avid outdoorsman who loved training beagles, hunting, and fishing. Tom had a great many friends that he maintained relationships with until his last days. He always found reasons to smile and tried to share his warmth with those around him.
As we remember Tom, we celebrate a life well-lived, propelled by devotion to family, passion for entertainment, and the joys of camaraderie. His memory will live on through his children and all those who were fortunate enough to know him.
