Thomas Sing Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home on Feb. 5, 2026.
Thomas B. Sing, of Boerne, Texas, was called home to be with Jesus, on February 1, 2026, at the age of 70. While his passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, we take comfort in knowing he is now whole and celebrating in heaven.

Born on September 15, 1955, Thomas, known lovingly as Tommy, Pop, or Papa, lived a life defined by faith in Jesus, service, and unwavering integrity. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Boerne, Texas for 40 years, serving as a deacon, youth group leader, choir member, and a leader of the security team. His faith guided his life, shaped his character, and defined the way he served others-with kindness, humility, honesty, and compassion.

Tommy devoted his professional life to public safety and service. He proudly served as a firefighter, paramedic, and a Deputy Texas State Fire Marshal, dedicating himself to protecting lives and communities across Texas. His work required courage, discipline, and an unyielding commitment to truth and justice-qualities he embodied both on and off duty. He was widely respected for his professionalism, calm leadership, and steadfast sense of responsibility. He later founded Quest Fire Analysis alongside his son Tommy. It became a successful family business allowing him to spend his days helping Tommy grow in the discipline, rolling on the floor with his grandchildren in the office, and afternoon coffee and story time with his "girls" Anna and Sara. It was his greatest honor to combine what he loved to do with such excellence, while providing for those he loved the most.

Above all, Tommy was steadfastly devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor and friend, whose guidance, strength, and quiet wisdom will be deeply missed. His life leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him. To know him was to love him and he had such a special way of making everyone feel important and special for who they are.

He is survived by his wife Janice, his two daughters, Melissa Sing and Amy Stremmel (Brady), his son Tommy Sing, Jr. (Anna), 6 grandchildren, Austen (Luna), Emi, Wyatt, Caleb, Samantha, and Rebecca, Great-granddaughter Amelia, Brother James (Kim), and numerous extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church of Boerne or The 100 Club of Kendall County in honor of Tommy's faith and lifetime of service.

Tommy will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a dedicated public servant, and a man of quiet strength and conviction. He impacted everyone he met and left a lasting legacy, not through his renowned accomplishments, but because of how he loved and treated people. Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that he has heard the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Services will be held at First Baptist Church, Boerne, on 2/14 at 10:00 am with a visitation on 2/13 at Ebensberger-Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, TX, from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm.

Yesterday

Tommy will be missed by all whose life he touched. He truly was one of the good guys and lived a wonderful life and served his Lord. Scott and I went to Robert E Lee High School with Tommy and he was in my homeroom for years. Tommy always was kind and had that big smile to greet you. He attended Olmos Elementary with my husband, Scott. His passing leaves a big whole in many lives , but we rejoice knowing where he is now. Rest in peace dear Tommy.
