Thomas Edward Smith, age 50, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on October 26th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
A lifelong Pittsburgher at heart, he bled black and gold. Whether it was football season, hockey playoffs, or a late-night baseball game, he showed up loud and proud for his Steelers - and every other Pittsburgh team that dared step on the field or ice. Game days won't be the same without his cheers (and occasional shouting at the TV).
But what truly defined Tommy wasn't sports - it was the way he loved people. He would help anyone, anytime, without a second thought. If you needed a hand or just someone who genuinely cared, he was already on his way. His heart was his superpower, and he used it daily.
Tommy also had a lifelong love of trains - especially model railroads. Every Christmas, his home transformed into a festive wonderland of tracks, lights, and carefully placed locomotives circling the tree. Christmas was his season, and he made it feel magical for everyone who walked through his door.
He will be deeply missed by his family: his older siblings, Marilyn Lenhart, Susan Stickle, and James Smith; his nieces and nephews, Andrew Mann, William Stickle and his wife Casey, Richard Stickle, Michele Young and her husband Travis, Brianna Smith and her husband David and son Mason, and Devon Mann.
Tommy is now reunited in Heaven with his mother, Meredith Smith, his father, James Smith, and his sister, Tammy L. Smith, who all went before him. A devoted child of God, he found strength and comfort in prayer every day. His faith wasn't just something he spoke about - it was how he lived, with love, generosity, and grace guiding him always.
He leaves behind many friends, neighbors, and countless others who were blessed to know him. While our hearts ache with his absence, we take comfort knowing he is home with the Lord - joyful, at peace, and watching over us with a Terrible Towel in hand and Christmas lights shining all around him.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In honor of his passion, we welcome Steelers gear or black and gold attire - because he would've loved that.

This is truly saddening to the heart, I did not spend a lot of time with Tommy, but the times that I did were funny and full of laughter. When my mom(Barbie) and Mike got married, Tommy spent most of the night dancing with everyone and making my youngest son laugh as they copied each other making up crazy dance moves to the songs being played. When I lost my husband, he was there for me and my family, with such a loving and helpful heart.I am truly grateful for the time and memories that we will cherish and send my condolences and prayers for those who are hurting at the loss that nothing in this life can fill. Rest in peace Tommy, we will see you again.
