Tom Snover Obituary Thomas D. Snover, aged 92, of New Port Richey, Florida and formerly of Michigan, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was born in Richmond, Virginia on November 24, 1932 to parents David Snover and Theresa (Craft) Snover. He graduated from Port Huron High School and went to work at Mueller Brass in Port Huron in 1951 as a clerk and later a machine operator. He attended and won a degree from the Port Huron Junior College while working at Mueller. After working there for 17 years, he served in the UAW Local 44 in several positions, including steward, committeeman, recording secretary, community services committee, and director of the Local's 77-day strike against the company in 1968. In 1981 he was appointed director of the international UAW community services department until his retirement from that position in 1995. Thomas stayed active with the UAW all his life, even into retirement. He was also politically active in his community, making phone calls during each political season. During the Florida legislative session, he lobbied Florida elected officials in Tallahassee. He was also a member and past president of the St. Clair County Intermediate Board of Education, on the Port Huron Hospital Board, the Township recreation director, and a member of numerous boards and agencies in health care. He was also involved in the Boy Scouts and in Little League baseball. He continued to be active to the very end. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Port Richey, Aripeka Elks in Hudson, FL, SummerTree Friendship Club and the UAW Retiree Council. Thomas married Linda L. Ondrovick Snover on August 4, 2017, and is survived by her, his sons Kenneth, Joseph (Ann), and Mark (Helen) Snover, stepson Christopher Seegert (Shelley), daughter Karen Snover, stepdaughters Tamara (William) Cooley, Angela (Tom) Harmon, and Cynthia (Mike) Pelton, 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, and dear friend Robert McCall. Funeral services at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, with visitation Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 4-8pm and service on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11am. Interment to follow at Riga Cemetery, Riga, Michigan. The family suggests tributes be made to the Benevolence Ministry of First Baptist New Port Richey or to the R.O.P.E. Center of Hudson, Florida.
