Thomas Howard Stafford, born on June 26, 1951, in McDowell County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 26, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Thomas was known for his dedication to his work as the owner and operator of the Foothills Tile and Marble Company. His commitment to excellence in his craft was reflected in the high standards he set for himself and the relationships he built within his community. Outside of his professional life, Tommy's passions truly came to life in the great outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping, experiences he often shared with his loved ones.
He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, often finding joy in simple pleasures, such as cultivating a vegetable garden. Tommy's dedication to his loved ones was unwavering; he treasured the time spent with them.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Brenda Hollifield Stafford, and his children, Taylor Stafford and Vanessa Stafford. He also took great pride in his grandchildren: Sydney Stafford, Bently Stafford, Carter Stafford, Greyson Stafford, and Reagan Stafford. In addition to his immediate family, Thomas is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his son, Daniel Thomas Stafford, as well as his parents, Woodrow and Ruby Ferguson Stafford. Tommy also mourned the loss of his siblings: brother Baxter Stafford, and sisters Rachael Heavner and Naomi Woody.
A memorial service to honor Tommy's life will be held on September 29, 2025, at 4:00 pm, at Beam Funeral Service & Crematory in Marion, North Carolina. Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate a life well-lived and to share their stories and memories of a man who touched the hearts of many.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills for the excellent care given to Tommy.
Thomas Howard Stafford will be remembered for his strength, warmth, and the genuine care he extended to all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the love he shared.
