Thomas Richard "Tom" Stephenson, 77, of Rockford, Ohio died Tuesday morning, December 30, 2025, at Mercer Health in Coldwater, Ohio. He was born February 1, 1948 in Celina, Ohio and he was the son of the late Richard and Sarah "Gene" (Harrison) Stephenson.
On July 29, 1967 Tom married the former Judy Secaur, who survives.
Tom graduated from Parkway High School in Rockford, Ohio. After graduation, he went on to serve in the US Army, to include completing a tour in Vietnam. Tom was a farmer, and he was a State Farmer with the Future Farmers of America. He also served on the Liberty Township Zoning Appeals Board for many years. Tom was a member of the Chattanooga United Methodist Church. He enjoyed farming and spending time outside. But Tom's favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by two sons, T. Kirk (Jennifer) Stephenson of Mendon, Ohio, and Eric (Amy) Stephenson of Rockford, Ohio; a daughter, Kristin (Matt) Jamison of Spencerville, Ohio; two brothers, David (Charlene) Stephenson of Rockford, Ohio, and Mark (Twyla) Stephenson of California; six grandchildren, Jordan (Andi) Stephenson, Kayla Stephenson, Adam Stephenson, Paige Stephenson, Kamryn Jamison, and Karmyn Jamison; and one great grandson, Tatum Stephenson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday afternoon, January 3, 2026, at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, 111 West First Street, Rockford, Ohio 45882 with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 3133 US Route 33, Rockford, Ohio 45822.
The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service, from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday January 3, 2026, at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in memory of Tom may be given to the Chattanooga United Methodist Church, 9978 State Route 49, Rockford, Ohio 45882.
