CROMWELL – Thomas Dale Stepp, 76, of Cromwell passed away at his home March 10th, 2026. He was born in Hendersonville, NC on September 29th, 1949 to the late Roy and Linda Maxwell Stepp.
Tommy was a proud boilermaker who worked hard throughout his life and took great pride in providing for his family. He loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was happiest when he was outside enjoying nature. He was known for his love of simple things – like a good hunting dog and a day outdoors.
Those who knew Tommy knew he was sharp as a tack and carried a quiet confidence. It is hard to describe him in just a few words; he was someone you truly had to know to appreciate. He seemed to know a little bit about everything and was always ready with advice, a story, or an opinion.
Above all, Tommy loved his family. He especially cherished the time he spent with his wife, and his children and grandchildren when they came to visit, creating memories that will be treasured by them for the rest of their lives. Tommy will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a step-daughter, Michelle Massey.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 27 years, Linda Hardin Stepp; children, Bradley (Shanna) Stepp, Darla (John) Braun, and Davena (Mark) Goffinet; step-children, Jason (Lisa) Minder and Gloria Warren; grandchildren, Myles Stepp, Lucas Stepp, Landon Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas, Hannah Barlow and Annsley Redman; step-grandchildren, Ashley Williams, Paige Rospieski, William Rospieski, Jeremy Pyle, Carmen Meeks, Haley Schele, Caressa Retherford, Gerri Massey, Lee Massey III, Melanie Griffin, and Danielle Velasquez; 29 great-grandchildren; sister, Tammy (Fred) Johnson; and his chosen brother, Roger Dortch.
Services will be held Saturday, March 14th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home with Fred Johnson presiding. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Green River Baptist Church Cemetery.
