Thomas Harry Stevens Sr., age 88, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on February 6, 2026, at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie. He was born on December 11, 1937, in Flint, Michigan, to George and Dorothy (Hooker) Stevens.

Thomas grew up in Flint, and after high school, he enlisted in the United States military. He served his country with dedication and honor throughout his career. Stationed at various locations across the United States, he worked as a guard until his retirement in 1977. He was also stationed in Germany on three separate occasions and proudly served during the Vietnam War.

Thomas was a member of the VFW Post 3676 in Sault Ste. Marie.

Thomas enjoyed reading, gardening, fishing, and woodworking.

Thomas is survived by his daughters, Angela (Steve) Jacobson, Priscilla (Brian) Amell, and Barbara Stevens, all of Sault Ste. Marie; son, Brian (Victoria) Stevens of Sault Ste. Marie; grandchildren, David Cox, Steven Jacobson, Crystal Laffrey, Ashley Amell, Thomas Gardner, Tonya Gardner, Heather Nalepa, Josh Sturgeon and Tashia Ramos; great-grandchildren, Kelli, Samantha, Valerie, James, Mekalia, Savanah, and Raielee; sister, Linda Stevens; and brother-in-law, Bill Eastman.

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa; son, Thomas H. Stevens Jr.; parents, George Stevens and Dorothy Barber; and sisters, Janet Eastman, and Shirley (Alan) Cameron.

Thomas's final resting place will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.

Memorial Donations can be made in Thomas's name to the Ball Hospice House, 308 W. 8th Avenue, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
