Columbia, South Carolina - Jeff entered the Gates of Heaven on Oct 6 at the age of 66 after an extended illness.
Jeff was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson Strait II and Louise Petty Strait of Columbia.
Jeff was Born on September 5, 1958 and 2 years later he was joined by his new Sister Amy Louise Strait Dobbins.
At the age of 7 while on vacation in Rock City Lookout Mountain,Tenn, TJ Strait died unexpectedly.
Louise then returned to Columbia with Jeff and Amy and raised them as a single mother, but with the help of Blanche Edna Brannon who was like a second mother to him.
Jeff attended Julia Bates Private School in Columbia where he graduated at 16. Turning 17 that fall he attended Newberry Collage. One of Louise's favorite stories was about taking Jeff to Newberry with the car packed. After unloading the car Jeff suddenly changed his mind and announced he wasn't staying. Louise said they tricked him and drove off with him running after the car.
Jeff had many favorites such as the SC Coast - the beach was his home. He loved music and dancing. Jeff was A top rate shagger and would turn out any dance floor when given the opportunity. His Friends meant the world to him.
In the 80s and 90s Jeff was a working partner with his former partner of 18 years. Tony Hendon at Trenholm Road Hair Salon and later at Trenholm Road Florist. Jeff was a very gifted man., His eye for design was second to none. He made countless people happy with his gifts for exceptional floral and interior design.
He was a dedicated and loving DogDad. His 4 pup children Jackson Daniels, Oscar, Saxs and Tiffany all greeted him when he entered the gates of Heaven.
He spent the last few years working for A Florist and More at Forget me Not.
Jeff had the biggest heart and was full of love for many people.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Blanch Edna Brannon and his sister Amy Strait Dobbins. He is Survived by his nephew Thomas Dobbins and family of Columbia.
In Honor of Jeff's wishes there will not be any services.
Should you wish to honor Jeff , he would want you to contribute to an animal shelter of your choice.

I am really sad to hear of Jeff´s passing. I lived across the street from him when he was a little boy. I used to baby sit for him and Amy. His mother Louise was a wonderful person. She loved to drive in the rain. She would call my mother to go with her. They always stopped by Gene´s Pig and Chick to get fried chicken. I loved to hear Mrs. Strait laugh. What a wonderful family. I just wish others could have known them when I did. My sincere sympathy to the remaining family.

The Staits lived across the street from us for 20 years. We loved Ms. Louise and her children. Jeff was such a kind person, and send my condolences to his family and friends

Oh how sad to lose such a sweet man. Jeff was one of the most giving man I have ever known. He always put everyone else first before himself. I was glad to have had the opportunity to be his friend.

I met Jeff when I went to work at a Florist and More he always had a smile on his face when I came to work he would often ask me how I was doing if I was having a bad day he would listen to me and give me advice on how to handle what I was going through I am going to miss him dearly he had the personality that made the job pleasant to work at love you PB fly high heavenly definitely gained a beautiful angel the day you passed away
