Sullivan, Thomas S., Sr., of Quincy, passed away on February 27, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, which he faced with remarkable strength, perseverance, and the same stubborn determination that defined so much of his life.
Tom adored his family, especially his sons and grandchildren. He was a proud “Beepa” (or “Beep”), a title he wore like a badge of honor. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering post-game advice (solicited or not), or sneaking a little extra fun into any ordinary day, he treasured every moment with his grandchildren. Nothing made him happier than being surrounded by them.
Tom loved boating and being on the water, where he was happiest with the sun on his face and family close by. He caught the golf bug later in life, appreciating both the good shots and having plenty to say about the bad ones. Time outdoors, spirited competition, and a good laugh were some of his favorite things.
Dedicated and driven, Tom built a successful career in sales and proudly started his own business. He was hardworking, determined, and resilient. He relished a challenge. When he could no longer participate in a traditional work environment, he taught himself how to read financial reports and charts and became skilled at making stock trades.
Above all, Tom was caring, loyal, and fun. He had a big presence, a bigger heart, and leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will continue to bring smiles (and stories) for years to come. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Beloved husband of 44 years to Carolyn Sullivan of Quincy. Cherished father of Thomas S. Sullivan, Jr. and his partner Tracy Affonso of Braintree and Jeff Sullivan and his wife Jenna of Weymouth. Loving brother of Nancy Dunn, Beth Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, Kevin Sullivan, and Joseph Sullivan, Jr. Devoted “Beepa” of Jake, Keegan, Ty, and Lenny. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Carolyn and Family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for their care of Tom over the past couple of years. Special thanks to the wonderful Nurses working tirelessly on Feldberg 8.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during visiting hours on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 PM at the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Parish at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Quincy. Burial will follow at Mt. Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tom may be made to Raising Harts, a local Autism Non-Profit.
