Thomas D. Tobin Jr., a cherished son, devoted father, and esteemed member of the Lancaster, Pennsylvania community, passed away unexpectedly March 2, 2026, at the age of 84. He was born on September 12, 1941, in Pottsville, PA, to Thomas Sr. and Margaret (Schutz) Tobin.
Tom was known for his dedication to his vocation as the co-owner/stylist of The Hair Company alongside Stan Fasnacht for over 50 years, where he touched the lives of countless clients with his exceptional skill and warm demeanor. Beyond his profession, Tom was a man of many passions. An avid reader and a lover of music, he found joy in singing and playing the drums, often attending concerts that allowed him to connect with the rhythms of life that inspired him. Tom had a deep appreciation for the sport of golf and was an ardent fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, sharing his enthusiasm for the game with friends and family alike. However, perhaps his most profound legacy will be his remarkable 45 years of sobriety and the invaluable role he played in the Alcoholics Anonymous community, where he generously assisted and sponsored others on their journeys toward recovery.
He is survived by a son Brendan Tobin of Portugal, a daughter, a grandson, 2 granddaughters, and his sister, Carol Gard (Roger) of Florida. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
A Memorial Service honoring Tom will be held at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543, beginning at 3 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2026. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 – 3 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the 521 Club, 2400 Butter Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
