Thomas L. "Tom" Walkington

1942 - 2025

Thomas L. "Tom" Walkington age 82, of Greenville passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at Corewell Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. He was born November 10, 1942 in Greenville, the son of Ben K. & Marion E. (Andersen) Walkington. He spent most of his life farming wheat, corn and beans and working at Frigidaire in Maintenance for 39 years. He also loved hunting either white tails here or trips to Wyoming for mule deer, riding motorcycles, fishing for salmon on Lake Michigan in his boat, loved his grandchildren and was regarded as a very honest man. Tom is survived by his daughter Kim Schaner of Grand Rapids; grandson Michael Schaner of Grand Rapids; granddaughter Kyla Schaner of Walker; two brothers Gary (Martha) Walkington of Trufant and Terry (Sandi) Walkington of Venice, Florida; nephews Kyle Walkington of Texas, Kalen Walkington of Oregon and Larry Lee Bennett of Texas; nieces Jill (Shane) Ashbaugh of Six Lakes, Brittney (Alex) Norton of Greenville, Michelle Tomlinson of Georgia and Cindy (Bob) Wilcox of Florida and german shepard "Baby Girl". Memorial contributions can be made in Tom's name to Muscular Dystrophy. Funeral Services will be 2 PM Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the Marshall Funeral Home, Greenville, with visitation from 12 Noon until the service. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Garden.
