Mr. Thomas "Tom" Michael Watts, Sr., age 82, of Mount Airy, NC passed away on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Novant Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC. He was born in Surry County, June 7, 1942, the son of the late Garles Rupert "Mike" Watts and the late Mary Alice Shelton Watts, Mr. Watts was retired from Surry Community College where he served as bookstore manager. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Vietnam War and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Surviving is his daughter, Angellyna "Angie" Michelle Watts; son, Thomas Michael Watts, Jr.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Dennis Speaks, Frankie Cave, Dawn and James Hall, Linda Johnson-Marion and Ron Marion, Ray Easter; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Shelton Watts, sister, Betsy Watts Easter, brother, Jimmy Watts. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2025, 11:00 AM, at Moody Funeral Chapel in Mount Airy with Rev. Grant Atkins and Brookie Bunton officiating. Entombment will follow in the Skyline Memory Gardens Mausoleum with graveside rites conducted by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard of Mount Airy and Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM prior to the service on Wednesday.
