Thomas (Tom) Lawrence Wild, 77, lifelong resident of Kellogg, ID, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on January 14, 2024. Tom was born on August 18, 1946 in Kellogg, a son of the late Lawrence Wild and Thelma (Baldwin) Wild.
Tom enlisted in the US Army. Upon his honorable discharge, Tom worked for various mines around the Silver Valley, Butte, Montana, Utah, Colorado, Kentucky, and later became an inspector for MSHA and continued to grow his career as an OSHA inspector where he retired.
He married Rhonda Williams on April 28, 1988 in Las Vegas, NV. Tom was a member of St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg where he was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He cherished time with his family and enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, camping, fishing, hunting, ATVing, watching sports (Go Hawks!), and gardening, but mostly Tom enjoyed being a Papa and being with family. Tom had a strong passion for the Silver Valley and took pride in his work, family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by a son, Gary Wild; and a sister, Joanne Wild.
Tom leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Rhonda Wild of the family home in Kellogg, ID; five children, Tammy (Mark) Kaminski of Birmingham, AL, John (Elie) Wild of Aurora, CO, Sandra (Robert) McCool of Murfreesboro, TN, Tommy (Donna) Wild of Kingston, ID, and Teya (Robert) Nahmensen of Kellogg, ID; a brother, Gary (Madonna)Wild of Laurel, MT; a sister, Linda (Tully) Clemets of Wardner, ID; ten grandchildren, Casey McCutcheon of Anchorage, AK, Dylan Wild, Lukas Wild, Keira Wild, Ashley Wild, Lisa Vargas, Jesse Vargas all of Aurora, CO, Melissa Vargas of Denver, CO, and Ernest Nahmensen and Ryleigh Nahmensen both of Kellogg, ID; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, as well as many dear friends.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Inland Lounge on Friday, January 19, 2024 beginning at 5:00 PM. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 12:00 noon, at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Kellogg, ID. A graveside service with military honors will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg, ID. In lieu of flowers: send donations to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W.
