Thomas Upole Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rouse Mortuary Service & Crematory on Mar. 5, 2026.
Thomas Lee Upole, known affectionately to friends and family as Tom, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, in Greenville, NC, at the age of 67. Born on January 13, 1959, in Preston County, WV, Tom grew up to be a man of integrity and warmth, whose life was marked by a deep commitment to his loved ones.

Tom's journey through life was shared with his beloved wife, Priscilla Cherry Upole, who remained by his side as his partner and best friend. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, creating a legacy of love and family. Tom was predeceased by his mother, Lois Upole Stiles, and is survived by his younger brother, Randy Stiles, who will miss the guidance and companionship that only a brother like Tom could provide.

A devoted father, Tom leaves behind a family that will cherish his memory forever. His son, David Walston, and David's wife, Tina; his daughter, Shannon McLawhorn, and her husband, Tony; his son, William Tolson, and William's wife, Tammi; his daughter Stacey Kemphfer will all hold dear the lessons and love he imparted. Tom's role as a grandfather and great grandfather was one he cherished deeply, and he will be lovingly remembered by his 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

After graduating from high school in Oakland, Maryland, Tom pursued his passion for logistics, dedicating 30 years to the field. His career was marked by a strong work ethic and a dedication to excellence, qualities that earned him the respect and admiration of his colleagues.

Tom's interests were simple yet profound. He found his greatest pleasure in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whose activities and achievements were a constant source of pride. His loving, passionate, and thoughtful nature was evident in every interaction, and those who knew him were blessed by his presence.
