June Hudson Mize

June Hudson Mize, 75, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at her home on February 18th, 2026. She was born August 31st, 1950, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, to the late Horace and Evelyn Hudson of Grifton, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald E. Mize, Sr.; her parents; and her beloved grandson, Brandon Todd Mumford.

June retired from EI DuPont after many years of dedicated service, where she worked in the Physical Testing Lab. In her earlier years, she was involved with First Christian Church of Grifton, where she enjoyed preparing meals for Vacation Bible School and helping coordinate church ice cream socials. She found joy in those times of fellowship and service.

June had a lifelong love of reading in her younger years and a deep love for cooking throughout her life. She found her greatest happiness in preparing meals for her family and creating a home where everyone felt welcomed and cared for. Whether through a warm meal, time spent together, or her quiet acts of kindness, she showed her love in simple but meaningful ways.

She is survived by her children, Scott Taylor and wife Kristin of Winterville, North Carolina, and Dana Taylor Lewis of Grifton, North Carolina, and their Father, Randy Taylor; her grandchildren, Caroline Taylor Mumford, Colton Taylor, Kloey Taylor, and Kaydn Taylor; and her great-grandchildren, Mason Todd Mumford and Oliver Taylor; her brothers, Mike Hudson and wife Sandy of Wilmington, North Carolina, and Dennis Hudson and wife Wanda of Grifton, North Carolina; along with her many nieces and nephews and dear friends who will remember her with love.

The family will receive friends for a time of fellowship and remembrance at First Christian Church of Grifton on Saturday, February 21st, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
