Betty J. Mize

Betty J. Mize, age 90, of Canton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026. She was born on Tuesday, December 10, 1935, in Toonigh, Georgia, to the late Jasper and Maude Martin.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who treasured her family above all else. She had a special love for her Boxer dogs and found great joy working in her yard, playing in the dirt, tending to her flowers, and caring for everything she planted.

A wonderful cook, Betty delighted in preparing meals for her family and cherished the time spent gathered together around the table. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and comfort. Betty loved the Lord and lived her life with faith and kindness.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents Betty was preceded in death by sons, Kenny Mize and Mike Mize. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Kenneth Mize; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and DeAnna Mize; daughter-in-law, Sherry Mize; grandchildren, Matthew Mize (Ashley), Joseph Mize (McKay), Malachi Mize (Glenda), Benjamin Mize (Kristin), Nethanel Mize (Rebecca), Titus Mize (Meli Sandra), Justus Mize (Courtney), Charity Crisp (Harrison), Gracie Smith (Shawn), Daniel Mize and Eli Mize; and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Sosebee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joseph Mize and Justus Mize officiating. Interment will follow in Lebanon Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the service.
