Francis John Moran Jr.

Francis John Moran, Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. He was born on July 2, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Frank and Margaret Moran.

Mr. Moran honorably served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard. A skilled and dedicated mechanic, he possessed an exceptional talent for repairing and restoring automobiles and was known for his ability to fix nearly anything. He was also an avid athlete who especially enjoyed playing tennis and maintaining an active lifestyle.

A devoted traveler, Mr. Moran held a particular affection for visiting Europe. He was always willing to assist others and was well known for offering thoughtful and sincere advice. Above all, he cherished his family and deeply valued the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Moran will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Meredith Moran.

He is survived by his wife, Anne C. Moran; his children, Francis J. Moran III and Melissa Sneed (Gary); his grandchildren, John Gary Sneed and Jackson Sneed; his brother, James Moran; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Georgia National Cemetery.
