Doris Drennen Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marietta Funeral Home & Crematory - Marietta on Mar. 12, 2026.
Doris Jean Drennen, a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved sister, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on June 3, 1946, Doris lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, and a deep commitment to her family and faith. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Drennen Jr. Their marriage was a partnership built on love, loyalty, and shared devotion to their family.

A woman of faith, Doris was a longtime member of Elizabeth Baptist Church, where she found fellowship, comfort, and purpose. She also built a meaningful career with Eastern Airlines, working in reservation sales for 14 years. Her warm personality, professionalism, and steady dedication made her a valued colleague and a trusted voice for countless travelers.

Doris found her greatest joy in her family. She is survived by her daughters, Melanie Schwartz (Steven) of Canton, Georgia, and Brooke Downey (Eric) of Roswell, Georgia. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Hunter Schwartz of Canton, Georgia, and Trey Angelin and Liam Angelin, both of Marietta, Georgia. She is also survived by her sisters Carol Gibbs of Lebanon, Tennessee; Mary Parker of Riddleton, Tennessee; and June Hinton of Portland, Tennessee; as well as her brother William Beasley of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. Doris leaves behind several nieces and nephews, all of whom held her close in their hearts.

Doris will be remembered for her warmth, her compassion, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created and the love she shared so generously.
