Thomas Hunt Via, age 60, of Quitman, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 at his home. Mr. Via was born on October 2, 1943 in Pulaski County, a son to the late John G. Via and Beulah E. Campbell Via.

Mr. Via was a member of the Kaley Hill Missionary Baptist Church, and a truck driver for Levi Strauss Company. During his pastime he loved spending time with his family, camping with family and friends, and doing mechanic work. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is preceded in death by three sisters, and three brothers.

Thomas is survived by his wife of 42 years Linda Via, of Quitman, One son: John Edward Via and wife Louise of Quitman, brother: Henry Via of Cabot, sister: Emma Jane Ness of Enola, Two grandchildren: Brandy Combs and husband Patrick of Quitman, and Esker Thomas Via of Quitman, special nephew Robert G. Via and wife Sherry of North Little Rock, along with a host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Services for Mr. Thomas Via will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2004 at Kaley Hill Baptist Church with Elder Sidney McGraw and Elder Myles Evans officiating. Pallbearers will be Hank Tharp, John E. Via, Esker Thomas Via, John Everette Via Jr. Dikelon Evans, and Patrick Combs. Honorary Pallbearers will be Donny Rogers, David Adlong, Mike Evans, Justin Adlong, Van Frank Evans, Robert G. Via, and Zack Via. Interment will follow in Kaley Hill Cemetery.
