Thomas R. Wimmer

Grafton - Thomas R. (Tom) Wimmer passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at home with his three sons at his side. He joins his beloved wife Audrey (Schueffner) in heaven.

Tom leaves behind his three sons and their wives who loved and admired him: Tom (Janet), Mike ((Julie), and Jeff (Joann). His nine grandchildren: Sarah Toland (Ryan), Derrick Wimmer, (Lindsey), Steve Wimmer, Margo Giese, (Brett), Kristie Stonerook (Trent), Nikki Hug (Adam), Danny Wimmer (Rachel), Brooke Wimmer and Abby Wimmer, were his pride and joy. He is further survived by 19 great grandchildren. He was always there to support the grandchildren with words of wisdom and bad jokes! Tom and Audrey were actively involved in their grandchildren's lives and attended every concert, school program and sporting event they could.

Tom was a mechanical engineer who graduated from MSOE. He worked for Globe Union, later bought by Johnson Controls, his whole career. He was a brilliant engineer who could fix anything. The family never bought new appliances because Grandpa could always fix what was wrong and he returned the machine better than it was before!

Always quiet and steady, Tom was a true humanitarian who believed in equality for all with unconditional respect and regard for others. He loved his wife Audrey and their children and grandchildren beyond measure. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
